Former Indian cricket team captain and coach; the fourth highest wicket taker in test cricket; and the highest wicket-taker for India in One-day internationals, Padmashri Anil Kumble is one of the most respected names in world cricket.
His contribution to Indian cricket for 18 years has resulted in helping India win a record number of Test matches; and his bowling prowess has lead him to claim virtually every notable Indian bowling record.
Post retirement from cricket, Kumble has actively been involved in leadership roles – having served as the President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association; mentoring the Mumbai Indians to an IPL as well as the Champions League Title; serving as coach of the Indian team that went on to win all the bi-lateral Test and ODI series that they took part in. He has also served as the Chairman of the Cricket Committee at ICC, and recently completed his 3-year stint as Head of Cricket for Punjab Kings in the IPL.
Kumble’s leadership qualities, administrative excellence and corporate acumen have also made him an astute entrepreneur – with his venture, TENVIC, boasting of more than 80000 children participating in different sports programs across various schools in India. More recently, Anil has ventured into the sports tech space with Spektacom, with an initial offering of an AI based smart bat technology that aims to revolutionise performance analysis and fan engagement.
